Prince joke issue really stresses out College Confidential posters
Saturday, 16 January 2010
by Angela Wu
College Confidential, virtual home to thousands of angsty 17-year-olds college-prepped to within an inch of their lives, is a pretty easy gauge for the general College Admissions Stress Level. This week’s stress-inducer: The Prince’s annual joke issue–specifically, “Princeton sees steep drop in applications for Class of 2014.” (Oh, Class of 2014…we’re a little worried for

Princeton on (and in) Haiti
Thursday, 14 January 2010
by Julia Bumke
As we slog on through reading period, it’s important for us to take some time and acknowledge the sheer terror that has overcome Haiti following its 7.0 earthquake on Tuesday morning. The Princeton University Chapel is holding a vigil tonight at 5 to honor those affected by the earthquake, and Princetonians have already created a

Medical Bud for the Garden State
Tuesday, 12 January 2010
by Miriam Geronimus
While Princeton students have been burying their heads in their laptops and textbooks, oblivious to the outside world — well, except for the occasional Facebook “study break” or “Whitman wail” — the state of New Jersey has been making headlines. The New Jersey Legislature passed a measure to legalize medical marijuana. And the bill was

I mean, I know that if I ran the Daily Princetonian there’d be a policy requiring editors to occasionally insert delightfully nonsensical sentences into otherwise truthful articles. Just to see if people were paying attention, you know? But I always figured that Prince editor-in-chief Matthews Westmoreland was a more responsible fellow than me. So I

It’s like an entire series of 24, in real-time, starting right now
Monday, 11 January 2010
by Will Saborio
Alright guys, time to buckle down, churn out some pages, and sweat some bullets along the way. Food is for the weak; bathroom breaks for pansies. Bust out those extra cans of Red Bull, get comfy in those sweats. Don’t bother brushing your teeth right now. In fact, hygiene? Forget it. Delirium? Good for the

Reading Period Hotspots in Review
Monday, 11 January 2010
by Abby Greene
There are a lot of things at Princeton that make students here feel warm and fuzzy. Late meal, for example. Free t-shirts. Professors who give out lots of A’s (grade inflation be damned) and a cell phone number with the casual “Call me if you have a question.” But despite the Princeton preoccupation with rating

VH1 SMACKDOWN: Hulk Hogan v. Princeton Debate
Sunday, 10 January 2010
by David Walter
Take a minute out of paper writing to reflect on the fact that this video exists: Yup, that happened. Debate teamers Anthony Loring ’11, Charlie Metzger ’12 and Jim Hao ’12 took on Wrestling Superstar / Reality TV trainwreck Hulk Hogan… and lived to tell the tale. Good going, boys! Probably helped, though, that Hogan
