VH1 SMACKDOWN: Hulk Hogan v. Princeton Debate

Take a minute out of paper writing to reflect on the fact that this video exists:

Yup, that happened. Debate teamers Anthony Loring ‘11, Charlie Metzger ‘12 and Jim Hao ‘12 took on Wrestling Superstar / Reality TV trainwreck Hulk Hogan… and lived to tell the tale. Good going, boys! Probably helped, though, that Hogan wasn’t in the same room as the Princetonians when the segment taped in May (it aired in July as part of the channel’s Great Debate series).  I don’t think even our best and brightest could survive Hollywood Hulk’s Atomic Leg Drop!

On a related note: Between “Great Debate” and Class of ‘07 Autumn Anderson’s appearance on My Antonio, Princeton’s really starting to establish a presence on this most venerable (/venereal) of networks.  Any publicity’s good publicity, I suppose.   Gosh, what should we do next?

To my mind, there’s really only one option.  VH1’s all about “Celebreality”, and seeing as we’ve got exactly one bona fide celebrity in our student body… Cheek of Love it is!  (Alternate titles: For Love of Cheek, My Cheek, Rock of Cheek, I Love New Cheek, Cheek Academy, A Shot at Cheek with Joey C., Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Cheek)  Can’t wait.  Won’t wait.  Please start filming this NOW.

Okay this article is awesome and great, and huge props for finding it, but

    1) The Princeton debate team isn’t in that room either, it’s green screened
    2) And what room is that anyways? I’ve certainly not seen anything like it on campus…
