The band calls them “the hecklers”: two students who go to as many home men’s basketball games as the plaid-clad band itself does — which is to say, all of them.

They stand, dressed in orange and black, at the front of the student section in Jadwin Gym, armed with a megaphone and a cruel wit. Among the opponents’ offenses that attract their attention are “looking unkempt” and “general lack of talent.”

“It’s fair — it’s all fair,” said Andrew Whitener ’12. “We work with what they provide us,” added a jersey-clad Tom Boggiano ’12.

Boggiano and Whitener, who play varsity baseball and have friends on the basketball team, have attended every home basketball game since their freshman year. Since then, they’ve noticed the bleachers behind them filling up…

Michelle Obama '85 in her graduation photo. (via barack-obama-photos.com--this site exists?)

From the AP:

Michelle Obama told a group of curious kids visiting the White House Thursday about her daughter Malia’s most frequent question about Dad’s job: What’s he doing to help tigers?

Asked about her family’s favorite animal, the first lady said they talk about tigers at least once a week, because Malia, 11, is concerned about what President Barack Obama is doing to save the endangered animals.

“He tells her he’s working on it and there are a lot of people who are thinking about it,” she said. “But I think, the Obama household, we’re trying to save the tigers.”

OK, I’m not saying…I’m just saying. Malia. When it comes time, trust us, you’ll get in. Despite having a father who told the world you got a 73 on your science test.

Lilly Pulitzer has collaborated with, um, animal crackers? to bring you the cutest animal cracker box ever!

StyleList says:

“Rather than the classic red circus-train design, the rectangular boxes are illustrated with a menagerie of animals. It’s a distinctively Lilly look, with a breezy, sketchy style and a bright pink, green and yellow palette.”

Appropriate: The proceeds will go to tigers! Get it, you guys? Apparently, Kraft Foods, which owns Nabisco, which owns Barnum’s Animal Crackers, supports tiger conservation efforts in Sumatra, through the World Wildlife Fund.

Anyway, I saw them at the C-Store and  was going to get a box, but then I remembered this and backed away quickly. Which means there are still boxes left for you, dear Inkblots! Like ten of them!
