Lost faith in humanity? This story won’t completely restore it, but it’ll get you moving in the right direction:

Lena Mae Thompson bought her Ewing High School class ring for $20 in 1969.

That summer she went to Coney Island with a date and some friends. Her date was wearing her ring, and he lost it.

“Once you lose (a ring) in someplace like Coney Island,” said Thompson, “you figure it’s never going to get found.”

But 40 years later, Edward Goldin found the ring in his parents’ house. And the ring started its long trip back to Thompson.
